PRINCE (1958-2016)
Group of 5 envelopes related to his 1992 Love Symbol album artwork, each Inscribed, one Signed with "Love Symbol," in green or pink ink.
The envelopes: "N[ew] P[ower] G[eneration] / [Love Symbol]"; "P[rince] and N.P.G. / (suggestion & Die-Cut)"; "Please try 2 strip / Levi [Seacer, Jr.] & Mayte [Garcia] into / the shot they are absent / from and use 4 (die-cut) / Thanx"; "Mayte"; "Various." Each 4¾x6½ inches, pale blue or pale purple paper; sealed flap torn open at upper edge of each, few minor scattered stains, faint uneven toning to one.
With letter signed by Jeff Gold, who was the art director at Warner Brothers for the album, explaining that the envelopes contained transparences [not present] which Prince wanted incorporated into the album artwork. 1 page, 4to. Venice, nd.
